Apartfromthestandardcreate/deletetypeoffunctionstherearealotofspecialcommandstodisplayinformationandfixallkindsofproblemsrelatedtopartition-tablesandLVMinformation.Afullyinteractivepartition-tableeditorisincludedaswell(PTEdit),bothforclassicMBR-stylepartitiongasthemorerecentGPT(GuidPartitionTables).

IMAGINGWholedisks,partitionsorpartsofpartitioncanbesavedtoanimagefile,eitherRAWorinacompressedformat.Theimagefilescanberestoredtothesameoradifferentlocationresultinginbackuporcopyfunctionality.Thecompressedimagescanbeopenedfordirectory/filebrowsing,toviewortoretrieveindividualfilesfromsuchabackupimage.Thisworksforpartitionimagesaswellasfull-diskimages.
Forlargeimages,andusingremovablemediatostorethem,itispossibletolimitthesizeofthegeneratedfilesandcreatemultiplenumberedfilesforoneimage.Fordirectwritingtoremovablemedialikediskettes,CDRorDVD-R(streaming)itwillpromptformedia-changetoo.

CLONINGCloningcanmakeanexactcopyof(partof)apartitionordisktoanotherareaonthesameoranotherdisk.Thiscanbeusedasaveryfastbackupfacility(speedsof30MB/secarenotuncommon)andtomovepartitionsarround.ChecktheCLONE,MOVEandCOPYcommandsandmenu-items...

ThisfeatureisimplementedforFAT,HPFS,JFSandNTFS,butonthosefilesystemsitisaverypowerfultool.
Itisoperatedeitherusingtheuser-friendlyBROWSEinterface,whereyounavigatetothefilestoberecovered,orbyusingtheunderlyingcommandsdirectlyformaximumflexibilityabdeffectiveness.
Itworksbyfindingalldeletedornormalfiles(DELFIND/FILEFIND),andthenlettingtheusermakeaselectionbasedonawild-cardfilespecificationandarecoverabilityoutlookpercentage(DELSHOW,orthroughtheBROWSER).Theactualrecoveroperationwillcopythematchingfilestoaspecifieddirectory,ifpossibleonanotherdisk(RECOVER).
Youcanfindthefile-recoverandundeletefunctionsinthemenuaswell,inthespecific'Mode=...'submenusforthefilesystemsthatsupportit.
