smartutility是volitanssoftware公司推出的磁盤驅動器狀態檢測工具.它包括自我監控,分析並提供錯誤報告,它直觀的界面讓用戶可明確地知道自己的磁盤狀況.這樣,你就可以選擇最合適的時間來備份磁盤內容,如果對自己的磁盤並不是那麼放心的話.

smartutility不僅僅顯示了個人信息的屬性值及狀態,也從整個硬件內部偵測並列出狀況,以直觀的方式顯示.報告中包含錯誤的扇區計數.

smartutility具有的功能有:

SMARTUtilityisanapplicationtoscantheinternalhardwarediagnosticssystemofharddrives.SMART(Self-Monitoring,Analysis,andReportingTechnology)isasystembuiltintoharddrivesbytheirmanufacturerstoreportonvariousmeasurements(calledattributes)ofaharddrive'soperation.Theattributescanbeusedtodetectwhenaharddriveishavingmechanicalorelectricalproblems,andcanindicatewhentheharddriveisfailing.SMARTUtilitycanreadanddisplaytheseattributes.Thisallowstimetohopefullybackup,andthenreplacethedrive.SMARTUtilityalsoallowsrunningadrive'sbuiltinselftest,whichcanalsoindicatemalfunctionsonthedrive.
WHYUSESMARTUTILITY?
SMARTUtilityisdifferentfromotherdriveutilities,suchasDiskUtility,whichonlyreadtheoverallSMARTStatus.SMARTUtilitynotonlydisplaystheindividualattributestoseetheirstatusandinformation,butitalsousesaninternalalgorithmbasedonthoseattributestodetectdrivesfailingbeforeSMARTindicatesithasfailed.Thispre-faildetectioncansavepreciousdatabeforeSMARThasdeterminedthatthedrivehasfailed.And,whiletherawinformationcanbeviewedonthecommandlinewithsmartmontools(whichiswhatSMARTUtilityisbasedon,SMARTUtilitypresentsitinaneasytoreadformat,aswellasrunningitsinternalpre-failalgorithm.Plus,withtheabilitytorunselftests,problemscanbedetectedevensooner.
