WhileathighattacksettingsDeftCompressorcanbeusedtoemphasizeaudiotransients,itcanalsobeusedto“smash”audiosignalifyouuseattacksettingsaslowas0.01millisecond.EventhoughtheS-curveisthemarkedfeatureofDeftCompressor,youcansmoothlychangeittoasteeperL-shapebyadjustingthe“Punch”parameter.
DeftCompressoralsofeaturesasocalled“vintage”compressionmodewhichproducescompressionsoundreminiscentofanalogtubecompressors:itproducesawarm,gentlysaturatedsoundwiththeabilitytooverdrivetheoutputsignal.Besidethat,youmayswitchbetweenthe“feed-forward”and“feedback”compressionmodes.
