Thepurposeofthiscourseistointroduceyoutobasicsofmodeling,design,planning,andcontrolofrobotsystems.Inessence,thematerialtreatedinthiscourseisabriefsurveyofrelevantresultsfromgeometry,kinematics,statics,dynamics,andcontrol.
Thecourseispresentedinastandardformatoflectures,readingsandproblemsets.Therewillbeanin-classmidtermandfinalexamination.Theseexaminationswillbeopenbook.Lectureswillbebasedmainly,butnotexclusively,onmaterialintheLectureNotesbook.Lectureswillfollowroughlythesamesequenceasthematerialpresentedinthebook,soitcanbereadinanticipationofthelectures

Khatib'scurrentresearchisinhuman-centeredrobotics,human-friendlyrobotdesign,dynamicsimulations,andhapticinteractions.Hisexplorationinthisresearchrangesfromtheautonomousabilityofarobottocooperatewithahumantothehapticinteractionofauserwithananimatedcharacterorasurgicalinstrument.Hisresearchinhuman-centeredroboticsbuildsonalargebodyofstudieshepursuedoverthepast25yearsandpublishedinover200contributionsintheroboticsfield.

很不錯的機器人學課程，這個課程是斯坦福大學今年發佈到網上的視頻教程，要知道機器人學這門課在有網絡課程之前，每年只有斯坦福大學的學生才有機會聽到，人數不到1萬！！課程主要是針對機器人學的各個方面進行一個全方位系統的講解，包括運動學、動力學建模，運動規劃，跟踪，設計，控制仿真，機器人編程等方面。如果能夠耐心看完這個課程（當然前提條件是你能夠聽懂！），你會對機器人系統有一個全面的認識和了解！
OussamaKhatib教授是機器人方面的專家，他是麻省理工TheRobiticsReview的撰稿人，IFRR的主席，IEEEfellow，並且還獲得過JARA獎。
