AboutNIElectricMotorSimulationToolkit.TheNIElectricMotorSimulationToolkitprovidesthemodelingelementstodevelopbothdesktopandhardware-in-the-loop(HIL)simulationsofelectricmotorsystems.ThetoolkitfeaturesaLabVIEWprojecttemplateforelectricsimulation,control,andHILaswellasNIVeriStandadd-onsforthevariousmotortypes.Youcanexecutethemodelsonahostcomputerforsoftware-onlysimulation,NIreal-timetargetsfortraditionalHIL,orNIFPGAtargetsforhigh-speedHIL.

Thetoolkitcontainsswitchedreluctancemotor(SRM),ACinductionmotor(ACIM)andpermanentmagnetsynchronousmachine(PMSM)modelsinasimplelinearapproximationorinhigherfidelitymodels.ThehighestfidelityversionsintegratemodelsfromJSOL'sJMAG-RTtoolchain.Withthelookup-tablebasedmodels,boththeopenAPIversionandtheJMAG-RTmodels,youcanaccuratelysimulatehighlynonlinearbehaviorsuchascoggingtorqueandmagneticsaturation.
