Overallchangestothesoftware’sworkbenchesandprocessesallowforMaterialUtilization(MUL)andDesignforManufacturability(DFM)conceptstofullyberealized.Theseconceptshelpcustomersreducematerialwastethroughvirtualtryoutsreplacingteststampingsandaddressingformabilityissuesthatcouldthreatentheintegrityofapartlongbeforethepartmakesittotheshopfloor.Newblankingprocessesinthesoftwareallowpartstobenestedandcreatedfaster,andwithmuchlesswastethanbefore,byconsideringmultiplefactorsinthestampingprocess.Changestopilotholesandaddendumfeaturesintegraterealworldsolutionsintothedigitalprocess,allowingforincreasedaccuracy,androbustpartsandoperations.

TheCOSTOPTIMIZERmodulenowboastssubstantialimprovementsinnestingsolverspeedaswellastwonewdisplayoptionstoshowcarrierconditionandthe3Dpartalongwiththelayout.CostOptimizationofnestinglayoutsnowallowsuserstochooseifthepartiscroppedwhilemaintainingtheaddendumoffset,oriftheaddendumiscutwithoutaffectingthepart.Thischangegivesusersthetoolsneededtoeffectivelyevaluatematerialcostsavingsopportunitiesonpartsformedwithaddendum.ExtendinguponFormingSuite’suniquecapabilitiesforintroducingandevaluatingwebandcarriergeometry,thepilotholetoolnowprovidestheoptionofaddingmaterialaroundpilotholesasiscommoninrealworldstripdesigns.Thisallowsengineerstoensuretheintegrityoftheirstriplayoutsinthesoftwareandontheshopfloor.
