ProgDVB是一款通過電腦和衛星電視接收卡收看衛星電視的軟件。它具有網絡廣播和音頻、視頻錄製功能。用戶需要一個DVB-PCI卡，碟形衛星天線以及一台電腦。軟件兼容Windows98, 2000, XP,WIN7。

ProgDVB是DVB節目是有嚴格的壓縮標準的，因此它的格式也是固定的，但基於圖像和聲音的格式是多種多樣的，因此也就有了眾多的音頻和視頻格式，了 解這些信息對於我們來說是非常有好處的，因為這也是決定節目質量好壞的重要依據。能顯示音視頻格式的軟件有兩種，一種是ProgDVB,另一種就是 MyTheatre。
在ProgDVB軟件中，選中一個正常收看的節目，如亞太6號上的中央電視一台，打開工具欄上的文件菜單，選中下拉菜單中的屬性，就出現瞭解碼器信息（文 中中所有此類圖片都刪去了右半部分，只顯示左半部分），上面有詳細的節目音頻數據；圖像格式720×576，幀率25Hz，寬高比為4：3，視頻位率 504160B/s；音頻格式：Layer-2,一個聲道，位率132480bps。主要功能：
