雖然蘋果很早就就加入了「文件共享」功能，但是仍然要通過 iTunes 才能同步。然而幾乎所有果迷都知道通過 iTunes 同步文件是出了名的慢（尤其是在 Windows 平台），並且非常佔用電腦資源，程序本身也非常臃腫。很多時候我們不得不考慮第三方的同步工具，下面要給大家推薦的 iExplorer（不是 Internet Explorer 瀏覽器…） 就是非常優秀的一個免 iTunes 同步文件的工具，並且不需要越獄。
iExplorer 是一款可以運行在 Mac 和 Windows 平台上的免費軟件，通過這款軟件可以非常輕鬆的訪問到 iPhone/iPad 上的應用程序目錄、照片目錄，比如你 iPhone 照片庫中的照片都可以直接在 iExplorer 的界面中訪問到，而通過其他第三方程序創建的內容（比如使用 Camera+ 拍攝的照片）也基本都可以從這個 iExplorer 中直接在電腦上讀取。當然這些都不是最重要的，因為 iExplorer 最實用的功能就是往設備上同步文件。
要使用這款軟件，首先我們得知道自己的設備上有哪些支持「文件共享」功能，方法非常簡單，連接上設備並啟動 iTunes，然後選中設備，並點擊右側主界面上的「應用程序」標籤，接著往下拉你就可以看到支持「文件共享」功能的應用，也就是說只有往這些應用中直接通過 iExplorer 存放文件才有效。比如，筆者的 iPad 上可以直接往“迅雷看看HD”中存放 RMVB 或者 MKV 格式的電影來播放（迅雷看看 HD 支持 rmvb、3gp、mkv、mp4、flv、avi、wmv、rm 等格式），也可以往“QQ閱讀HD”中同步各種格式的電子書（支持 HTML、ePub、txt、ppt、xls、doc、pdf 等等）。這裡我們直接以往“迅雷看看HD中”同步視頻為例介紹：
將 iPad 連接到電腦，並啟動 iExplorer，你會發現在 iExplorer 中已經識別出了你的 iPad，展開之後會發現有兩個文件夾：Apps 和 Media；
展開 Apps 文件夾，然後找到“迅雷看看HD”文件夾，將其展開之後，你會看到一個名為 Documents 的文件夾，這個文件夾就是可以直接拖放文件同步的；
將要同步的視頻，直接拖到這個 Documents 文件夾中，同步完成。其他支持「文件共享」的應用，也都是將文件同步到這個 Documents 文件夾中。
使用這種方法，你會發現速度非常快，並且對系統的資源佔用極小，推薦大家都安裝。不過，這個軟件也只能同步支持「文件共享」的應用，音樂沒有辦法同步（似乎蘋果並沒有開放第三方音樂播放器的「文件共享」接口），其實筆者在測試的過程中，發現將mp3等格式的文件拖到迅雷看看HD中也能播放……
